A Veteran Finds a Safe Place to Land
Philip spent his career in service to his country, first in the Navy, then in the Air Force. For decades, he was the one others counted on. In 2024, after a serious fall left him with multiple fractures, it was his turn to need support.
His daughter knew he could no longer live safely on his own. Assisted living was the right answer, but like so many families facing a sudden transition, she found that doing the right thing and affording the right thing are two different challenges.
SHORE’s Aid and Attendance Benefit Assessment bridged the gap, making it possible for Philip to move into a community where he can recover with the daily care he needs.
“We will be able to afford his care thanks to you,” his daughter shared. “My father served in both the Navy and Air Force and now needs help for his care. We truly appreciate your support.”
For a man who gave years of his life in service, this grant is a small way of returning the favor: a safe home, steady care, and a family with one less thing to worry about.
